Actor Rohit Roy recently revealed that he is planning to revive one of the popular serial of 90’s era – Swabhimaan, directed by Mahesh Bhatt and scripted by Shobha De and Vinod Ranganathan. Apparently, the actor has already started working on the project and if all goes well, it will go on the floor by the end of this year. The actor essayed the role of Rishabh in the iconic TV show.
“Amit Khanna (producer) advised me to revisit the show and I’m trying to put it together. It’s a different storyline with the original cast reprising their roles. We will have new actors playing our kids. The show will see a 20-year leap. I will be back as Rishabh Malhotra,” Rohit said in a statement.
Talking about the impact of the character it had on the viewers, the actor further added, “The show is now streaming on YouTube, and still has the same effect on viewers. What Shobhaa De wrote about me, 'The Prince of Housewives' is making a comeback.”

Rohit is all set to make his debut on the digital platform with Vikram Bhatt’s thriller, Memories. A few days back, in an interview to us, Rohit said, “The best part of the digital platform is that you know where your show is ending, unlike television shows. The way Vikram Bhatt narrated me this story, I felt associated with it from day one. I know Vikram for so many years and when he shared with me this story, I knew it would be interesting.”
The actor further added, “Believe me, Memories is by far one of the best scripts I have read. The series has a very crisp and engaging storyline with fresh content. Also, the shooting is no less than a film shooting. I am really looking forward to this show.”
In the series, Rohit will be essaying the role of an anchor who enters dead people’s minds to help police solve challenging cases.
