Shaheer Sheikh's love saga Dastaan-e-Mohabbat's first promo will take us back in time

Telly star Shaheer Sheikh is back with a historical love saga with Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev actress Sonarika Bhadoria. The show is titled Salim Anarkali: Dastaan-e-Mohabbat and it will showcase Shaheer as Salim and Sonarika as his Anarkali. The serial released its first promo today and honestly, it took us back to the historical period on India.

In the promo, we can see a beautiful palatial setting and a tall man standing in the costume of a king. The man is then shown taking off the Taj (crown) and walking away. In the background, we can hear a voice over which says, "Hindustan ke taj ko thukraakar ek shehezaade ne pehena mohabbat ka taj. Ishq ke bagawat ki sabse badi dastaan, dastaan-e-mohabbat, Salim Anarkali."

Colors channel shared the teaser of the show on Instagram with a note that said, "Hone ja raha hai ishq ke bagaavat ki sab se badi dastaan ka aagaz, Dastaan-E-Mohabbat: Salim Anarkali!"

Shaheer had previously shared his interest towards being a part of a periodical drama and had admitted that he is looking forward to playing a historical character in a show. Incidentally, he had mentioned being smitten watching Dilip Kumarji in Mughal-E-Azam and expressed his desire to play something like that onscreen. Looks like his wish is granted.

The actor was last seen as Dev in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi opposite Erica Fernandes. Their chemistry on the show was crackling making them one of the most loved couples on screen. The actor was also said to be a part of Ekta Kapoor's Kasautii Zindagii Kay opposite Erica but soon the rumours were ended with Parth Samthaan stepping in as Anurag Basu.
