A few days after singer Sona Mohapatra accused Anu Malik of being a "serial predator", singer Shweta Pandit on Wednesday shared a detailed account of an incident from 17 years ago alleging that the music composer made sexual advances towards her when she was 15 years old. Joining in the raging #MeToo movement, she called Anu a "pedophile" and "sexual predator" in a long post on Twitter where she mentioned that in mid 2001, he had told her that he’ll give her a song if she "gave him a kiss".
Soon after Shweta's tweet went viral, the netizens mounted pressure on Endemol, the makers of Indian Idol, and Sony Entertainment to sack Anu as the judge of the show. They also pointed out examples of Sajid Khan and Subhash Kapoor, who have been asked to step down as directors of their respective films following sexual harassment allegations.

However, it looks like the show officials are yet deciding on the next course of action. A source close to the channel revealed to a leading daily, "They have taken note of the developments, but no decision has been taken yet. It is a wait-and-watch situation as Anu Malik is synonymous with the show. Though netizens have been tagging Sony TV in their online demand to oust him, the channel officials are keeping mum for now."

Meanwhile, Anu recently refused all allegations against him by telling a media agency, "No comments. This is ridiculous. I don’t want to talk about it. Today anyone says anything."
Anu Malik is currently judging Indian Idol's tenth season with Vishal Dadlani and Neha Kakkar.
