KWK 6: And the mobile fell out of his underwear: Varun Dhawan's parents share funny childhood memories

Varun Dhawan’s parents Karuna and David Dhawan appeared in a short video during the actor’s interaction with Karan Johar on his celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan 6. “He was born a thumb-sucker. Whenever he removed it, he was up to some prank or some destructive plan. It was about quarter to four in the morning and we really had to work hard for a particular exam and I was actually teaching him till 3 in the morning and I said, you revise this and I’m coming back. So, when I came back to the room, I said, ‘Varun, you have a mobile on you’ and he said, ‘No,’ and he started shivering. And I just caught him and I shook him up. And, I said, Varun, you have the mobile. And he said, no. And it fell out of his underwear and there it was on the floor,” Karuna Dhawan said.

“Varun, as a child from those days only, was very heavy you know. And he used to be very naughty.  He didn’t have any goal in his life. He’s always lost in his own mind. He’s too into his work as an actor. He’s done these ten films all on his own. His credit is his. Well, I’ve said a lot about you. I’ve hidden a few things. But in the end, I must say, Varun, stay the way you are. You’re the best. I couldn’t have asked for a better son than you,” David Dhawan said.

Varun is the star of films Dilwale, Main Tera Hero, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Judwaa 2 and Sui Dhaaga.
