Ekta Kapoor who welcomed her first child via surrogacy has revealed the name of the baby. She has named her son as Ravie Kapoor and announced it on Twitter with a heartfelt post. It is for the first time that a female celebrity has chosen this route of surrogacy and become a single mom. The child was born on January 27. Ekta's father veteran actor Jeetendra's real name is Ravi Kapoor and her son is named after him.

Three years ago her younger brother Tusshar Kapoor had taken the surrogacy route to welcome his first child Laksshya Kapoor. Ekta is extremely close to Laksshya and dotes on her nephew. Now, she is on top of the moon with the birth of her own child. Apparently, Ekta was very keen to carry her own child but that couldn’t be possible so she opted for surrogacy.

Dr. Nandita Palshetkar, who guided Ekta throughout the process throws light on it and said, “Ekta Kapoor came to me some years back to become a mother. We tried to help her get pregnant with multiple cycles of IUI and also multiple cycles of IVF. But we were unsuccessful. Hence we had to take help of the technique of surrogacy which we performed 9 months back at our Bloom Ivf centre . Nine months later she had achieved success with the birth of a child on Sunday.”

Sources close to Ekta reveal, “She was keenly involved in the entire process. She would take constant updates about the mother and baby’s health at every stage from the doctor. It was her pure determination to become a mother that made this happen.”

Ekta's house has been decorated as well for the joyous occasion of the birth of her first child and to welcome home the baby.
