Sidharth Malhotra’s last few movies haven’t translated into box office successes (cue on to Baar Baar Dekho, A Gentleman, Ittefaq and Aiyaary) while Aditya Roy Kapur’s previous hits were majorly second leads in big budget movies like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Dear Zindagi. Ask them how they deal with failure, Sidharth says he becomes silent and aggressive while Aditya clamps down, shuts off to analyse and makes peace with the situation.

When Koffee With Karan host Karan Johar asked Sidharth about his breakup with Alia Bhatt, he asserted that the two are courteous post-split. “We haven’t met after it. Our relationship is civil... I don’t think it’s bitter. It’s been a while. I have known her for much longer even before we dated. I gave my first ever shot with her in SOTY so there is so much history,” said the actor about his Student of the Year co-star and former GF.

He further added, “There is a reason why two people decide not to be together. There were lots of ups and downs. When you take yourself from a situation, you look at all the happy and good memories.” An interesting point in the conversation when Karan asked Sidharth about his ‘lust story’ with Kiara Advani. "Not as yet. Not lust story. I think she is lovely, and we are going to work together in the future," Sidharth replied.

Aditya, who has been linked to his Aashiqui 2 co-star Shraddha Kapoor, said he didn’t date her or even Parineeti Chopra. Accepting the latter part, Karan called out Adi’s bluff and mentioned that he did have a thing with Shraddha. In the recent past, the Fitoor boy has been linked to model Diva Dhawan too, but he maintained they are just ‘good friends. ‘

In the episode that aired last night on Star World (now available on hotstar.com), Sidharth and Aditya made an attempt to redeem themselves from their previous Koffee With Karan performances. Sidharth, a self-admitted huge Kishore Kumar fan, sang one of the music maestro’s creations while Aditya performed his original on a guitar. Going by what we saw, we wouldn’t blame Sid when he said he’d like to have Adi’s fingers to play the guitar and impress girls!

Moving forward, Aditya’s brothers Siddharth Roy Kapur and Kunal Roy Kapur shared memories from their childhood. Their mother Salome Roy Kapur revealed about Aditya's obsession with cricket while Kunal spilled the beans on Aditya’s experiments with different laughter. As for Sidharth, it was his bunch of friends revealing the lesser-known side to him. A friend who Sid once shared an apartment with in Juhu opened up about his struggle to cover an all-glass window with a painting when he needed some privacy. Once it so happened that the Kapoor & Sons actor came home with a date, but his roommates messed around with him by hiding the painting.

The next segment saw Aditya and Sidharth fighting for the coveted Koffee hamper! Going first into the rapid-fire round, the former joked that he doesn’t find Shraddha or Parineeti talented. Aditya albeit thinks Deepika Padukone has big beautiful eyes but ranked Kareena Kapoor Khan’s the least in the list of those with a good nose. When asked about playing a gay character opposite someone, he picked Sidharth to be his co-star and would pair Parineeti with Arjun Kapoor.

Sidharth, on his turn, was asked which of Aditya’s exes would he like to date and prompt came the reply: Shraddha! He added that he met her recently and that she looked hot and cute. In a bit of an odd arrangement, the actor said he would like to set up Alia with Aditya. That’s a lot of weirdness in the room if you ask us! Complicating things further, when asked about an actor he’d like to have as his elder brother, he took Saif Ali Khan’s name but picked Kareena Kapoor Khan to be his wife. Seriously, Sid? Moving on, Sidharth ranked Ranveer over Ranbir as the better actor and said Katrina looks good opposite him (Sorry, Alia). And while he too may have opted to set up Parineeti with Arjun, there was a certain expression when KJo asked him if his Jabariya Jodi co-actress was dating someone named Charit. Is that a sign of agreement? Guess we will have to wait for the two stars to come on the couch and clarify! Malaika Arora won’t be happy with the above-said pairing, as Karan too put forward.

All in all, it was quite a family conversation with two of the hottest men in Bollywood. There were a bunch of revelations made, some not so surprising ones, but also several that make us look forward to – like Varun Dhawan’s bachelor party before Ranbir Kapoor’s? And will we see Sidharth in Ranbir’s bash though? Guess we will have to wait and watch!
