After Nakuul Mehta's Ishqbaaz, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein to go off air? Here's what Divyanka Tripathi has to say

After the news of Nakuul Mehta's Ishqbaaz going off the air in the first week of March hit the fans, rumours of another popular daily soap on Star Plus titled Yeh Hai Mohabbatein going off air has resurfaced once again. The channel has taken this decision considering the poor performance of the show on the TRP charts.

When the lead actress of the show, Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya was asked about the same, she brushed it off and said that the actors haven't been informed about it as yet. "They haven't announced anything officially to the actors at least," Divyanka aka Ishita said.

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein aired its first episode in December 2013. The show is loosely based on author Manju Kapur's book Custody. Initially when the show began the story revolved around Dr Ishita Iyer Bhalla, Raman Kumar Bhalla and Raman's daughter from his first marriage with Shagun Arora. Now, as the serial has taken several leaps and witnessed addition to the characters, the TRP has considerably dipped.

As per reports, the decision is being taken as the channel desires to enter into competition with other leading channels and wants to axe shows that aren't performing well.

Reportedly, the spin-off of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai titled Yeh Rishte Hai Pyaar Ke will be taking over the spot occupied by Ishqbaaz- Pyar Ki Ek Dhinchak Kahani, which will bid adieu to viewers on March 15. Let's see what happens with YHM...
