Yesterday (May 23, 2019), BJP leader Smriti Irani created history by defeating Rahul Gandhi, president of Indian National Congress in Amethi with the margin of over 55,000 votes. Since then, congratulatory messages have been pouring in and the latest one to wish her is her former co-star, Ronit Roy.
Roy took to social media to congratulate Irani with a heartfelt post. He wrote, "EK NUMBER!!! Amethi main Jeet ki koti koti badhai @smritiiraniofficial Aajevan vijayi bhava” (Bravo on your victory in Amethi. Hearty congratulations. May you be a winner always) (sic)

On the other hand, Ekta Kapoor, whom Smriti Irani shares a close bond with, took to her Instagram account to share her happiness. She shared a picture with Smriti and wrote the lyrics of her popular show Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’s title track. She captioned, "Rishton Ke bhi Roop badalte hain, naye naye saanche Mein dhalte hain, Ek peedhi Aati hai Ek peedhi jaati hai... Banti kahaani Naayi."

For the uninitiated, Ronit and Smriti had worked together in KSBKBT where they played the role of husband and wife, Mihir Virani and Tulsi respectively. The show was produced by Ekta Kapoor.
