Popular medical drama Sanjivani, which premiered in the year 2002, is all set to make a comeback with a reboot, which will see Gurdeep Kohli and Mohnish Bahl reprising their roles. Joining them as the leads are Ishqbaaaz fame Surbhi Chandna and Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai actor Namit Khanna while Rohit Roy and Sayantani Ghosh are the new joinees in the cast. Producer Siddharth P Malhotra, who is the creator and producer of the show, confirmed the news on social media.
Calling the show as filled with 'old world charm and gen next energy,' he tweeted:

Furthermore, in an interaction with a leading daily, Siddharth pointed out that the show will bring tears to the viewers and will be a welcome break from the supernatural shows. “In a time of snakes killing people to exact revenge, this show will bring tears to the viewers’ eyes and a smile on their faces," he was quoted as saying. Interestingly, he revealed that he auditioned 70-80 girls before zeroing on Surbhi and unlike the original show, the lead actors will be seen as resident doctors and not interns.
The report further added that the team recently started shooting for the show and stated, “Sanjivani was my first show, so it’s important I don’t let myself and the channel down. The set will be different, the writing will be different.” The show will reportedly go on air by July-end.
