Singer-actor Karan Oberoi who was in news for past two months for allegedly raping and blackmailing a woman recently revealed the real reason behind why he and TV actress Mona Singh had parted ways 13 years ago. When it comes to their personal lives, the ex-couple had always maintained a low-profile, but now for the very first time Karan decided to speak about his break-up.

“I wanted to be with her (Mona Singh). She is a wonderful girl and a great artiste. We were too young and different as people. Mona is very social, always bubbly but at that time marriage was not something she was looking at. Her career was going great guns and she wanted to focus on that,” Karan said in a statement.

Ask him if he wanted to settle down at that point of time? Karan is quick to reply, “Yes, I wanted to settle down very quickly.”

Surprisingly, Mona stays just about 3 blocks away from Karan’s building. So, does it make things awkward whenever the two ends up bumping into each other? To which he said, “There is just social hi and hello if we meet but no animosity as such. You can never behave ill with someone you have loved.”

Karan Oberoi and Mona Singh met each other on the sets of Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin in 2006 and had dated for a brief period until they parted ways.
