Talent-based reality franchise Dance India Dance is back and the excitement has reached a pinnacle as the gorgeous Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan, ace choreographer Bosco and India’s most loved rapper, Raftaar have joined in as judges this season. The show is a battleground of dance for talented dancers from the East, West, North and South zones as they compete in the #DanceKaJungistan.
After an arresting routine that raised a voice of protest against pinning the blame of rape on women by the all-girls dance group Soul Queens to ‘Laga Chunari Mein Daag”- choreographed by the coach of ‘ South Ke Thailavs’ Sneha Kapoor, all the judges were so moved that they joined the crew on stage and hugged the girls. The act not only questioned the approach of society towards rape victims but served as an inspiring call-to-action for countless women to stand up for themselves, learn self-defense, become stronger and take their offenders to task.
Judge Kareena Kapoor Khan said, “This is the first time an act like this has been performed for television. We are hoping to prove that hum auratein majboor nahi, mazboot hai. This is the perfect timing for this act, to tell people that women should be treated as equals, so when we say no it means no! People asked me why I chose television during the press conference and this is the reason. This is why I chose to judge."
Ace choreographer Bosco agreed with Kareena Kapoor Khan and said, “It is high time that we educate our boys to stop this and accept the possibility of rejection."
Rapper Raftaar added, “Don’t control our girls’ clothes, rather control our boys. He then began a rap to the Mantoniyat song, that emphasized a strong message for India."
