After being dropped from Indian Idol 10 due to MeToo allegations, Anu Malik reportedly shoots for a promo for the latest season

Bollywood singer and composer Anu Malik, who was a judge of Indian singing reality show Indian Idol ever since its inception, was sacked from his position of a judge in this show's 10th season after several allegations of sexual misconduct popped up against him in the #MeToo movement last year. Now, there are several reports suggesting that Anu has been approached to judge the next season of the singing reality show. The music composer apparently shot for a promo of the upcoming season with co-judges Neha Kakkar and Vishal Dadlani, on Saturday.

A source revealed, "The makers and channel decided to reinstate Anu Malik as one of the judges as he, with his shair-o-shayari, is synonymous with Indian Idol. He has judged every season since the reality show began airing in 2004." While rumours of Anu returning to the show had been doing the rounds for a while, the channel officials announced that they were retaining last season's judges.

This will be the eleventh season of Indian Idol and while there is no official confirmation from the channel or Anu himself, rumours are rife that the singer will return as the judge of the show.

For the unversed, Anu was accused of sexual harassment by singers Sona Mohapatra and Shweta Pandit amongst others, last year.
