Indian Idol 11: Sona Mohapatra claims #MeToo accused Anu Malik has tried to reach out to her; check out her latest post

Singer Sona Mohapatra took to her Twitter page to reveal that music composer Anu Malik, who is accused of sexual misconduct, has tried to reach out to her through the ‘Music Director’s association’ of India. On her Twitter page, she mentioned that the association has a locus standing on a matter (the right to bring an action or to appear in a court).

Sona tweeted, "Update.Anu Malik has tried to reach out to me via the ‘Music Director’s association’ of India. Like - 1) They have a locus standi on a matter which concerns his abhorrent personal conduct? 2) That I have any to ‘strike some deal’ on behalf of so many aggrieved women? Answer : NO" (sic)

Earlier, when Anu stepped down as Indian Idol 11 judge, Sona thanked her fans and media for their support. She tweeted, “Thank you to all the women & men & the media of India who supported our campaign #MoveOutMalik . A repeat offender like Anu Malik on national tv triggered a lot of trauma, pain & stress in many of our lives. I have been ill for a while & I hope to sleep well tonight." (sic)

In 2018, Sona had accused Malik of sexual misconduct. Other singers including Neha Bhasin and Shweta Pandit had also alleged the composer of harassment and shared their stories in the wake of the Me Too movement.
