After keeping the audience glued to their television screens, Vishal Dadlani, Neha Kakkar and Himesh Reshammiya judged Indian Idol 11 came to an end on Sunday with Sunny Hindustani being declared as the winner. Hailing from a humble family in Bathinda, the singer won the hearts of the audience and judges with his vocals. Sunny, who was given the surname 'Hindustani' by the former judge Anu Malik took home the trophy as well as Rs. 25 lacs prize amount. He also signed a contract with T-Series and won a car too.
Sunny, at the finale, defeated Rohit Shyam Raut, Ankona Mukherjee, Ridham Kalyan and Adriz Ghosh. Rohit and Ankona were first and second runners up and took home Rs. 5 lacs each. Ridham and Adriz came fourth and fifth and received Rs. 3 lacs each.

Sunny, on Indian Idol 11, shot to fame with his renditions of late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's songs majorly without formal training in singing. During the audition round, the Bathinda boy sang Afreen Afreen and received a standing ovation from the judges. Thanks to the show and his popularity, Sunny sang a song titled Jugnu from Kangana Ranaut's Panga. Sunny, before becoming a known face, worked as a shoeshiner on the railway station.
