So far, many celebrities have taken to their social media to raise awareness about Coronavirus outbreak and the World Health Organization declaring it a pandemic. Recently Ekta Kapoor also took to her social media and shared the #Safehands Challenge video started by WHO. However, her way of doing it didn’t go down well with netizens.
In the video, Ekta is seen washing her hands without taking her rings and bracelets off her hands. She captioned the video as, “Here it is @smritiiraniofficial I accept ur #safehandschallenge I nominate @anitahassanandani @rheakapoor @imouniroy @divyankatripathidahiya !p.s due my ring bracelet filled hands it takes me a whole minute plus an additional layer of sanitizer!n don’t mind d hair it’s my quarantine look.” (sic)
Despite her disclaimer, the video didn’t go down well as many panned her for the same. One user wrote, "May be you should take off some rings, bracelets... temporary. They won't run away. Saves time, sanitizer, water and money...even if you have enough to throw away ".
Another user commented, “It's a fail! You are supposed to take of your rings and those dangling bracelets or whatever they are. (sic)"
Before Ekta Kapoor, celebs including Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, amongst others also took up the Safehands Challenge and posted videos on their respective social media page.
