The Coronavirus pandemic has resulted in economic loss around the world. India has also suffered due to the lockdown implemented in the country. The entertainment industry has halted all productions and shootings. However, the daily wage earners and people living below the poverty line are the most severely hit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched PM CARES Funds for the benefit of common people as well as financial help is being given. Several celebs have already lent their financial support to the PM CARES Fund or CM Relief Funds in their respective states. Now Ekta Kapoor also has joined the fight and donated heavily to daily wage earners, freelancers and others who work at Balaji Telefilms.
Taking to social media, she issued a statement wherein she announced that she is foregoing her one-year salary (Rs 2.5 crore) to ensure that her co-workers working at Balaji Telefilms do not take a hit during these pressing times of Coronavirus outbreak. Sharing her statement, she wrote, “The only way ahead, is together! #StaySafeStayHealthy.”
This is a commendable act of Ekta’s who has also contributed to Sri Sri Ravi Shanker’s iStandWithHumanity initiative.
