Get ready to hum ‘Jungle Jungle Pata chala hai, chaddi pehen ke phool khila hai’ once again as ‘The Jungle Book’ goes on air on Doordarshan from tomorrow!

The Coronavirus pandemic might have caused the world to come to a standstill and made everyone take to their homes amid the lockdown. However, there is one silver lining of the quarantine and lockdown for Indians and that is the reruns of popular serials on TV. Doordarshan has left all its competitors and OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime and others far behind by airing its well-loved iconic shows such as Ramayan, Mahabharat, Upanishad Ganga, Circus, Chanakya, Shaktimaan, Shriman Shrimati, Byomkesh Bakshi, Dekh Bhai Dekh etc. Now, there is another good news for all the 90s kids as the well-loved and hugely popular animated series The Jungle Book is all set to rerun on Doordarshan.

Jungle Jungle, Baat Chali Hai Pata Chala  Hai is an iconic song that is still remembered by every 90s kid today and they will get to relive their childhood (probably with their own tiny tots) once again as Doordarshan will air the show daily from tomorrow April 8, at 1 pm daily on DD National.

This run is in solidarity with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Doordarshan to bring back popular series for the current generation to watch amid the Coronavirus lockdown. The Jungle Book Shonen Mowgli is actually a Japanese anime adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s most famous book.

However, the series was dubbed in Hindi for the Indian audiences and ran from October 2, 1989, to October 10, 1990. It’s hugely popular title song was penned by Gulzar and composed by Vishal Bharadwaj. Now, once again the show will find its eager original audience glued to the TV screens the same way they did when they were kids.
