The sudden outbreak of Coronavirus across the world has made a huge negative impact on major industries. The novel COVID-19 affected the economy with a dramatic change in the overall health of revenue-generating businesses like films, television shows. As the Prime Minister of India announced lockdown all over the country, shoots are stalled leaving daily wage earners with no money to afford a living in the times of a crisis. Considering the situation, several film celebrities extended their helping hand by contributing to the Federation of Western India Cinema Employees (FWICE) and urged people to do so. Joining the bandwagon are television actors who sent across a strong message through a video.
Popular producer Ekta Kapoor, yesterday, shared a video on Instagram wherein celebrities including Karan Patel, Aashka Goradia, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Mushtaq Shiekh, Ruhaanika Dhawan, Aly Goni, Suyyash Rai, Kishwer Merchantt, Pooja Banerjee, Krystle D'Souza, Manit Joura, Himanshu Soni, Sahil Anand and Bosco Martis appealed to their fans to do their bit for those in need. "We on behalf of our film industry appeal to our fellow artists, technicians and the entire fraternity to come forward and help the workers in the best possible way. Bank details of FWICE is given at the end of the video," Ekta wrote while sharing the video.
Talking about the lockdown, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray, announced that Mumbai will remain shut at least till April 30. Shoots of films, web shows and television soaps were called off from March 19 after the CM instructed to keep public places like gyms, malls, parks, beaches, etc closed from March 13 till the next announcement.
