Good News! After 'Ramayan' and 'Mahabharat', Doordarshan to re-air 'Shri Krishna' starring Sarvadaman D. Banerjee and Swapnil Joshi

After late Ramanand Sagar's mythological serial Ramayan of the eighties made a historic comeback on TV amid the COVID-19 lockdown, Doordarshan decided to telecast Mahabharat along with other shows. Not just that, DD has now brought back Uttar Ramayan as well. Also originally aired in the late eighties, the serial was a follow-up to Ramayan, featuring mostly the same cast. This show focussed on Rama's coronation, and his children -- the twins Luv and Kush. While Mayuresh Kshetramade played Luv, Swwapnil Joshi essayed the character of Kush in the show.

Interestingly, there's now another good news for the fans of mythological shows as Doordarshan is all set to re-telecast another epic show from the 90s - Shri Krishna. The official Twitter handles of Doordarshan National and Prasar Bharti shared the news.

For the unversed, Shri Krishna originally aired between 1993-1996. The show, which was also by Ramanand Sagar, was first broadcast on Doordarshan's Metro Channel (DD 2) but then DD National aired it from the start again in 1996. It featured Sarvadaman D. Banerjee played the titular role and Swwapnil played the teenage Lord Krishna with Ashok Kumar Balkrishnan as young Krishna, Deepak Deulkar as Balram and Shesha, Pinky Parikh as Rukmini / Yamuna / Lakshmi / Durga and Reshma Modi as Radha respectively.
