TV actress Hina Khan and her on-screen daughter in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Shivangi Joshi, were slated to make their Cannes debut this year. The latter had shot for a film Our Own Sky, which was supposed to be screened at the prestigious festival. Owing to COVID-19, we hear that not only her dream of walking the prestigious red carpet is crushed, Shivangi's debut film will also not make it to Cannes as the festival is concerned. Now as per the latest development, Our Own Sky will release on a OTT platform, which is yet to be decided.
The film's producer Mohammed Nagaman Lateef told a portal, "People would have got to see only photos of Shivangi, Aditya and Asifa maybe if we'd gone to Cannes. The film would have never got screens here like Hina Khan's Lines did. So now our POA is to re-edit the film and make it to a length of about 45 minutes, so that it is suited for OTT." On the other hand, Asifa is disheartened. "I feel bad because it was for Cannes. Of course, there are valid reasons but we had worked very hard; I just hope that people appreciate it," she said.
Howeever, Aditya, who stars opposite Shivangi in the film, revealed, I feel it's good thing that OOS going to release online. I am sure it will be a good hit. It has a kind of content that has been never shown on OTT."
Shivangi is yet to respond on the development.
