After much speculation, Ekta Kapoor confirmed that her supernatural series Naagin 4 is coming to an end. However, the producer assured that her team will return to the screen with Naagin 5 soon. Now, as television and film shoots are about to resume, rumours surrounding the fresh cast of the supernatural show are doing the rounds. While Ekta is yet to confirm, reports suggest that Mahekk Chahal is being considered for the lead role in Naagin 5.
According to reports of an entertainment portal, Mahekk, who teamed up with Ekta for Kavach in 2016, is said to be zeroed in as the lead. As per sources, the production house of Naagin 5 has slashed down the budget by 30% and the team was looking for a lesser-known face who is not an expensive resource. The report stated that Ekta and Mahekk are currently in talks for the show before it goes on floors.
The team of Naagin 4, including Nia Sharma, Vijayendra Kumeria and others, will be shooting for the last four episodes once the lockdown at Filmcity is lifted. Speaking of the overall response towards the supernatural biweekly, the show failed to attract the audience. Its predecessors were much appreciated and found a place at the top of the TRP chart every week.
