Television actor Rajesh Kareer who appealed for financial assistance from the entertainment industry earlier this week, is finally receiving support from corners of the country. Rajesh, known for his role in &TV's Begusarai, was seen pleading for money to travel back to his hometown in Punjab and survive the crisis. Like many struggling actors, Rajesh is also facing financial difficulty as shoots were stalled due to Coronavirus lockdown. In the latest development, after his onscreen daughter, Shivangi Joshi transferred Rs.10,000 to his account, Sonu Sood jumped to his assistance. Rajesh, during an interview with an entertainment portal, confirmed that Sonu called him and promised to arrange transportation to send him and his family to Punjab safely.
"Yes, Sonu Sood called me up today morning and asked me what problems am I facing. He asked me if I really want to go back to Punjab, and I told him that's the best case scenario for me and my family at present. So, he told me whenever I wrap up things here and are ready to leave, I should call him 2 days prior and he will get my transportation arranged. And make sure my family and I reach comfortably," Rajesh told.
Sonu, apart from Rajesh, has been assisting migrant workers stranded in Mumbai due to the lockdown. Under his Ghar Bhejo initiative, the actor arranged buses to send migrants to their hometowns in Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkand and Uttarakhand along with other states. Recently, he airlifted 177 Odia girls from Kerala and sent them back home safely. He also launched a toll-free helpline number for those who need assistance.
