In the month of May, renowned television producer Ekta Kapoor announced that her supernatural series Naagin 4 will come to an end post the lockdown. However, she assured fans of the show that she will return to the screen with Naagin 5 soon with a fresh cast. Since then, rumours regarding the new naagin have been surfacing every now and then. In the latest development, fans presumed that Divyanka Tripathi will be stepping into the supernatural zone with Bigg Boss 13 fame Asim Riaz in the lead.
Divyanka, soon after the buzz circulated on social media, dismissed it as false. Clarifying that Naagin 5 isn't on cards for her, the actress put rumours to rest. Before Divyanka, reports indicated that Mahekk Chahal and Dipika Kakar are approached for the titular role. For the unversed, Ekta and Divyanka teamed up for Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and the web series Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala.

Not just the lead actress, but buzz regarding the male protagonist is keeping avid Naagin watchers excited. After Asim, it is being said that Paras Chhabra, who was also a participant of Bigg Boss 13 with the former, has been approached for Naagin 5. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the new cast. Paras, before Bigg Boss 13, featured in the mythological show, Vighnaharta Ganesh.
