Deepika Singh’s mother tests positive for COVID-19, actress appeals to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for medical assistance as hospital beds are unavailable


Diya Aur Baati Hum actress Deepika Singh’s mother has tested positive for Coronavirus. Sharing a video on her Instagram account, Deepika urged Delhi Government and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to help her mother and father gain medical assistance. The actress is worried about her parents and other family members who stay in Delhi’s crowded Paharganj area.

Along with the video, Deepika wrote, “My mom has been diagnosed with Covid positive. My mom & dad are in Delhi. The test has been done in Lady Hardinge hospital & they didn’t give reports. They only allowed my father to click its picture. I really hope the concerned personell are reading this and my mom there receives some relief. We need your help . She shared that the government hospital did not give the reports to her father but only asked to click a picture of it. She also shared in the video that her sister who was not aware of her mother's condition also came to Delhi to help her parents and now they all are scared as more people can be infected if not given proper medication.

Deepika also said that her parents live in a joint family of 45 people it is not possible to do the treatment and quarantine her mother at home. She further said that she is facing problems in securing a bed for her mother as hospital beds are not available. She said that she has exhausted all her contacts in getting medical assistance for her mother. Deepika stays in Mumbai with her husband and four-year-old son Sohum, hence it is not feasible for her to travel to Delhi to be with her parents but she is in constant touch with them.
