TV actress Shikha Singh Shah gave birth to her first child on Tuesday morning. She and her pilot husband Karan Shah are now parents to a baby girl. Talking about her new born, an excited Shikha told a leading daily, “We are naming her Alayna Singh Shah. During our trip to Maldives in February, we had decided that if we have a daughter, this would be her name. This was the first name we both agreed upon, and after that, throughout the pregnancy, we called our baby, ‘Al’.”
When asked Shikha about how she feels being a new mother, she said, “The feeling is yet to sink in. I think the countless sleepless nights that we will face, will make me realise that I am a mom now!”
Talking about the COVID-19 situation, she shared, “Karan and I had taken all the precautions we could throughout our pregnancy. We wore masks constantly, sanitised ourselves and did all household chores. God has been kind as everything went smooth. The baby has arrived and we are both fine. The hospital is also taking very good care. They are meticulous and sanitising the area very well. But it is a different feeling to see everyone around in PPE kits. There are no visitors allowed. My husband Karan is staying with us and taking care of us."
While the actress is not planning to Kumkum Bhagya, it will be another few months before she starts work. She said, “It will be another few months before I can get back to work. With the baby around, I don’t think I will be able to step out at all.”
