‘Stop telling lies,’ says Shilpa Shinde to ‘Gangs of Filmistan’ producers as she posts email exchange with them as proof

Shilpa Shinde is furious at producers Neeti Simoes and Preeti Simoes of Gangs of Filmistan for leaking their ‘WhatsApp chats and spreading lies’ about her. The actress took to her social media account to share screenshots of an email exchange with them as well as WhatsApp conversations wherein she has outlined her grievances against them and the show. In the email exchange, Shilpa has cited reasons of her quitting the show even before it premiered. Her decision to quit the show was based on Sunil Grover’s presence whom she alleged hogs the limelight and the COVID-19 safety guidelines allegedly not being followed on the set. Preeti and Neeti, who are showrunners have claimed to have been blindsided by Shilpa’s allegations. She also revealed that she had sprouted COVID-like symptoms while working on the show.

Shilpa shared the screenshots with the words, “Stop telling lies as I had already emailed you on August 29, 2020, regarding my issues and wanted to end this matter on happy note and you have replied too. I've also received flowers and a note stating 'Get well soon and missing you at the sets.' Hence kindly stop this drama. I've been unwell while shooting at your sets and currently have COVID symptoms. No one is paying for this but only I have to face... So at least what you could do is not to spread that you are trying to contact me and all."

Dear, Preeti/Neeti @preeti_simoes @neeti_simoes Stop telling lies as I had already e-mail you on 29th Aug 2020 regarding my issues & wanted to end this matter on happy note & you have replied too I’ve also received flowers & a note stating “Get well soon and missing you at the sets”. Hence kindly stop this drama. I’ve been unwell while shooting at your sets and currently have COVID symptoms. No one is paying for this but only I have to face... So atleast what you could do is not to spread that you are trying to contact me and all. It is a male dominated comedy, I suppose everyone would agree. I don’t understand why are you claiming to have called me again and again. After this bitterness, I doubt I would be able to do a comedy show with you. So let’s not aggravate the situation then what it is already or else let’s end this on positive note. P.S. Screenshot of Mail Sent on 29th Aug 2020.. Swap~ @starbharat

About Sunil, she wrote, “I mentioned that I would not like to work with Sunil Grover simply because I don't want to be working as a prop for the show as he loved to do every single thing and there is absolutely no match to his level of energy. I learned it from outside that Sunil is a part of the show and upon seeking clarity from you about the news, you confirmed that his part is different from mine and we won't be shooting together."

In previous interviews, Shilpa had said about Sunil and the show, “He is a great man, and a great actor. However, I feel he wants to hog all the limelight when he is performing. This is unfair to other actors. The makers are promoting the show as Shilpa's comeback and they have literally pushed me to the back. I am not making a comeback to stand behind in the crowd and clap. I am not at all shown on the show. I can't work like this and I hate lies. I don't want to get exploited. The makers lied to me."
