Indian Idol 12 host Aditya Narayan recently hit the headlines after news of him getting married to his long-time girlfriend Shweta Agarwal started doing the rounds. However, as soon as the euphoria of his upcoming nuptials died down several reports came in stating that Aditya has gone bankrupt and owing to the lockdown he is left with only Rs 18,000 in his bank account. It was also reported that he had said that his savings had depleted, and he had to withdraw all the money he had invested in Mutual Funds. However, now the singer-anchor has come forward and rubbished all the rumours of him going bankrupt and clarified what he actually meant in the said interview.
While speaking to an online portal, Aditya refuted the news of his finances being in dire straits and said that the interview was taken a month and a half ago. He said that he had spoken about the current scenario and how lockdown has affected everyone and said, “I generally mentioned that I have bought a new apartment before the lockdown so being celebrity even, I have to think about EMIs and if pandemic extends for a longer period all of us have to suffer some way. I casually mentioned that mere 5 lakhs kat gaye hai EMI ke liye aur mere pas abhi 18K bache hai. But that doesn’t mean I have gone bankrupt and I have no money left me. After working for more than two decades and that too working continuously how can I go moneyless?”
He quipped and wondered what his would-be in-laws must be thinking about his financial status and said that maybe he will receive more gifts at his wedding now. Aditya urged fans to not believe in fake rumours and told them to look back at the work he has done in the past years and asked them not to worry about him.
However, he thanked his fans for looking out for him and offering him financial help but reassured them that he has a simple lifestyle and knows how to spend money while being thrifty.
