Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande's Pavitra Rishta completed 12 years on June 1. The show revolving around Manav and Archana was produced by Ekta Kapoor and ran successfully for 5 years. On Pavitra Rishta's 12th anniversary, Ankita, who played Archana in the show, came live on Instagram for all her fans. During the live session, Ankita got emotional remembering her co-star Sushant. For the unversed, Sushant quit the show in 2011 to pursue a career in Bollywood. He was replaced by Hiten Tejwani.
During the live session, Ankita remembered Sushant and said Pavitra Rishta is incomplete without him. "Sushant aaj hamare beech nahi hai, uske bina Pavitra Rishta adhoora hai. Archana ka Manav sirf Sushant tha. I'm sure vo jahaan bhi hai vahaan dekh raha hai. I hope he is happy wherever he is," Ankita told. She further revealed Sushant, being a senior actor, taught her acting. "Sushant taught me to act, I knew nothing. I was junior and he was very senior. He was a brilliant actor, brilliant co-star and I am very fortunate to work with him," Ankita shared.
Ankita went on to thank Ekta for seeing Archana in her. She said, "I am very fortunate that Ekta saw Archana in me and I really love her a lot. I am also very thankful to the people for making Archana." The actress further revealed that Pavitra Rishta's first episode went on air on June 1, 2009, at 4:30 am instead of 9 pm. She said Ekta decided to release it early due to an auspicious mahurat.
Pavitra Rishta is getting a sequel. Ankita has been finalised to play the lead. However, fans will miss Sushant as he passed away on June 14, 2020, after allegedly hanging himself in his room.
