This morning, PeepingMoon confirmed that Naagin actor Pearl V Puri has been arrested under the POSCO Act. The actor has been accused of the rape of a minor girl and has been arrested for the same. A source confirmed the news to us and revealed that Pearl is under Police custody for 9 days. The actor is accused of molesting and raping his co-star's 11-year-old daughter in his vanity van.
Now, TV celebrities Karishma Tanna, Nia Sharma, Ishita Dutta, Shaheer Sheikh and Jasmin Bhasin have come forward in support of the actor.
Karishma posed a picture with Pearl and wrote, "Satyamev Jayate. Truth wins and he did win. #gotbail @pearlvpuri #istandwithpearl #truthneverhides" However, minutes later, it was confirmed that the actor has not gotten bail and is still in police custody.
Nia Sharma posted a screenshot of her tweet on Instagram and slammed the complainant for making a 'joke' out of a serious crime like rape. She wrote, "Rape is not a joke, no excuse, no means to come at someone to satisfy a bruised ego. Rape and molestation stories are terrifying and far beyond imagination in India. The real victims die, their stories go unheard, their families are waiting for justice all their lives. Do not belittle them. Do not make a mockery of it. Rape allegations cannot fu**ing be used at will. It Cannot. It should not. @pearlvpuri sorry it happened to you."
Ishita, Jasmin and Shaheer also supported Pearl as they put on stories and posts on Instagram.
