Divyanka Tripathi denies being offered role of Daya Gada in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, says 'I don't think I'll be keen on doing it'

Rumours were rife that the makers of Sab TV's popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah had taken the role of Daya Gada to Divyanka Tripathi before Disha Vakani came on board. It was being said that Divyanka, who became a household name with shows like Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and others, turned the offer down. Now, the actress has finally reacted to the rumours. Talking to a leading daily, Divyanka called the reports 'baseless and non-factual'.

When asked whether she'll give it a shot if offered, Divyanka said, "It's a fabulous show with a great fan following but I don't think I'll be keen on doing it. I am looking for a fresh concept and new challenge." A source told the daily, "Divyanka has not been in talks with Asit Modi for Dayaben's role. Such loose talk serves no purpose except that it confuses the janta, especially the fans of the show."
