On June 4, Pearl V Puri was arrested by the Waliv police for allegedly raping a minor on the sets of a show in 2019. The minor was the daughter of Pearl's co-star and a complaint was filed by the girl's father. The actor was arrested under the POSCO Act and sections of the CrPC. After 11 days of judicial custody, the Vasai Court granted him bail on June 11. Now, days after getting bail, Pearl has finally broken his silence on the matter.

In a statement on Instagram, Pearl wrote, "Life has its own way of testing people! I lost my nani ma few months back, then on her 17th day, I lost my dad. Post that, my mother got diagnosed with cancer and then this ghastly accusation. Last couple of weeks were gruelling for me like a nightmare. I was, overnight, made to feel like a criminal. All of this in the midst of my mother's cancer treatment. It shattered my sense of security, making me feel helpless. I am still numb."

Pearl further added, "But I felt it's time to reach out to my friends, fans and well-wishers who've showered me with their love, support and concern.
