Paridhi Sharma shot to fame as Jodha in Ekta Kapoor's popular daily soap, Jodha Akbar. Later, she played the lead role in Sony TV's Patiala Babes. She was last seen in Jag Janani Maa Vaishno Devi - Kahani Mata Rani Ki. Now, ending her brief break, Paridhi has reportedly signed a new show produced by Gul Khan. Gul has bankrolled popular shows like Geet, Qubool Hai, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?, Ishqbaaaz, Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala, Nazar, Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka! and her recent shows are Imlie and Namak Issk Ka.
A source close to the development informed the daily that Himanshu Malhotra will be playing the male lead. Reportedly, the show will revolve around the relationship between a mother and daughter. "While the production house is known for making supernatural shows like Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka! and Nazar, it has also been producing interesting daily soaps like Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala. The new show featuring Paridhi and Himanshu has a great storyline, which will revolve around the relationship between a mother and her daughter. Paridhi will play the doting mother," the source told.
The source further said, "The rest of the casting is underway. We are planning to commence the shoot for the show in the first week of July."
Talking about Himanshu, he started as a contestant of India's Best Cinestar Ki Khoj. He participated in the first season and that's where he met his wife, Amruta Khanwilkar. Himanshu and Amruta tied the knot in 2015. He did shows like Aapki Antara, Seven, Bhagonwali-Baante Apni Taqdeer and many others.
