Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 15 goes digital, to premiere as an interactive series on Voot Select six weeks before TV

Salman Khan is returning with the 15th season of his popular reality show, Bigg Boss. The preparations are in full swing and this time, commoners are expected to join celebrities in the house. The list of contestants is yet to be confirmed. As fans are eagerly waiting for Bigg Boss 15, it has been confirmed that the show will premiere on Voot Select before television. A leading daily informed that Bigg Boss 15 will be more interactive and will give a chance to the audience to have a say in the tasks and eliminations. 

A source close to the development told the daily, "The company (Viacom18) has internally adopted the digital-first approach, so, Bigg Boss will be launched online. The television premiere will take place six weeks after the original airing. The platform will be able to increase its user base drastically. Secondly, the show will be far more interactive. The junta factor will give the common man the powers to hand-pick the contestants, and have a say in their tasks and exit from the show."

Confirming the news, Ferzad Palia, head, Voot Select, told the daily, "Bigg Boss has grown to become India’s biggest entertainment property. The launch of Bigg Boss OTT on our platform is another step towards solidifying our ‘Digital First’ approach. We are confident that our subscribers will enjoy our 24-hour live feeds, interactivity and gaming."

Reportedly, Bigg Boss 15 will kickstart in August this year. The previous season was won by Rubina Dilaik.
