After enjoying a successful run for almost 2 decades, Sony TV's CID (Crime Investigation Department) aired its final episode on October 27, 2018. Starring Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, Dayanand Shetty among others, the crime thriller was much loved by all. In fact, the audience continues to watch its re-runs on TV daily. Fans are hopeful that the channel flags off the next season of CID. While there is no official confirmation from the makers, Aditya, who is better known as senior inspector Abhijeet, told a news portal that talks are on but there is no firm decision taken.
"Talks are going on for it. As of now, there's no firm decision that has been made. Mujhe bich-bich inform karte hai ke aap log taiyyar rahiyega, hum dusre form mein leke aa rahe hai. Agar CID aana hai, toh channel ko hi decide karna hai. I heard about that and hume bola toh gaya hai (we have been told about season 2). I can't tell you the time frame for now because abhi bohot kacchi baat hai," Aditya shared.
In 2019, Aditya and Dayanand reunited with their CID co-stars Dinesh Phadnis (Freddy) and Ansha Sayed (Purvi) for a show titled CIF which aired on Dangal channel.
Well, we simply can't wait for CID's second season!
