Is this the reason behind Divyanka Tripathi turning down Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 opposite Nakuul Mehta?

A decade ago, Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar's Bade Achhe Lagte Hain struck the right chord with the audience. The show produced by Ekta Kapoor was appreciated for highlighting a mature love story between the lead pair. Now, it is no longer a surprise that Bade Achhe Lagte Hain has been renewed for its second season. While the top bosses of Balaji Telefilms are on the verge of locking Nakuul Mehta as the male lead, Divyanka Tripathi was the ideal choice to step in as the female lead.

However, Divyanka clarified that she has turned down the offer. The actress said that she didn't sign Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 as she couldn't relate to the character. Now, a source has informed PeepingMoon.com of the real reason behind Divyanka not doing the show. "Divyanka was approached for the show but post the look test they felt she looked much older than Nakul the male lead and thus decided against her. Also, her previous character of Ishita Bhalla was so ingrained in her that she was unable to pull away from it. Keeping this in mind the makers decided to look for someone else for the part," the source told.

Divyanka, in her statement, said, "Yes, I was offered Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 and I had even given a look test for the show. But I did not say yes to the show as I could not relate to the character. Whenever I take up any project I totally devote myself to it and it is like getting married to the role and if I am not convinced about the role, I will never do it. I couldn't feel like the character. Hence, I had to say no to Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2."

In the past, Divyanka has worked with Ekta on Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. The actress is currently winning hearts with her never-seen-before avatar in Khatron Ke Khiladi 11
