Anticipatory bail to Karan Mehra and family in case registered by Nisha Rawal, actor hits back at estranged wife saying, 'I have the proof to prove my innocence'

Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal are embroiled in a legal battle against each other. The estranged couple has levelled serious allegations on one another since June this year. The news of trouble in their marriage come to light after Nisha filed a case of domestic violence against Karan. After accusing him of infidelity and physical assault, Nisha filed another case and alleged that Karan's family members, Ajay Mehra, mother Bela Mehra and Kunal Mehra, of violence and exploitation.

The case under IPC sections 498-A, 377, 406, 323, 504 & 506 r/w Section 34 of Indian Penal Code was filed against the actor's family members. Now, in the latest development in the matter, the High Court granted anticipatory bail to Karan and his family members. In an interview with a leading daily, Karan told, "These sections mean cruelty with respect to dowry, sexual assault, violence, etc. filed by Nisha against me, my old parents and my younger brother. Although my parents have not even visited Mumbai in last two years."

Hitting back at Nisha's claims, Karan said he has all the proof to prove his innocence. He added that he is ready to fight in court and present his truth. "It has been difficult time but thankfully, the court granted a judgement in our favour. Being granted anticipatory bail means that I, my old aged parents and my brother will not be arrested in the alleged false cases filed by Nisha against us. I have the proof to prove my innocence which I will show in court. The laws for such cases are more favourable for women, which is why this took a long time as one doesn’t get anticipatory bail in these matters. We will contest and fight the cases in court and present our truth. We are ready to fight. Kyunki ab tak ek talwar latki thi, ke koi bhi kuch bhi bolega aur arrest ho sakti hai, par ab ek relief hai. It has been a tireless effort by my counsel, Shalini Sheoran. I am happy that the court acted fast in this matter," Karan added.

Karan and Nisha tied the knot in 2012. They have a son named Kavish, who was born in 2017.
