Talking about not able to attend Arvind Trivedi’s last rites, Arun told a leading portal, “I was shocked when I got to know about his death. I got up a little late today. By the time I called, they said that the last rites were happening. I couldn't even see him for the last time. I felt very sad about it. I had spoken to him 10-12 days ago. He was a little low. He has left a void in me."

Remembering Arvind Trivedi, Arun added, "He was a very, very good friend, a fine gentleman and a good actor, as everybody knows. He had many qualities. He didn't have an ego, never competed with anyone. He was a very positive man. I have lost a dear friend and suddenly, there's an emptiness. In Ramayan, we had limited scenes together. We were in different camps. But, we used to live in the same place in Umbergaon. I have fond memories of him. I will miss him. Whenever we met, he used to fold his hands, bow his head and call me 'Prabhu'. He was a devotee of Shiva as Ravan was. Bahut khaalipan sa hai aaj. It's difficult to take in, but one has to."
Arun also shared a tweet mourning the senior actor’s death. His last rites were performed in Mumbai today. He is survived by his three daughters.
