Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah finds its new Natu Kaka after Ghanshyam Nayak's demise?

Asit Kumar Modi-created Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is entertaining its loyal audience for 13 years now. One of the most-successful sitcoms made in India, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is still going strong despite multiple hurdles that came its way. Naturally, viewers are attached to every character of the show and consider them to be a part of their families. Recently, the unfortunate demise of Ghanshyam Nayak came across as a major shock to the audience. The veteran actor played the role of Natu Kaka and was important to the narrative.

Mr Nayak added humour to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah with his banter with Dilip Joshi's character Jethalal. Natu Kaka is shown to be the manager of Jethalal's electronics outlet called Gada Electronics. Though the void left by Mr Nayak can never be filled, the makers reportedly started looking out for a replacement after the veteran actor's demise on October 3. Last month, a fan page dedicated to Dilip's Jethalal shared a picture of an actor who can possibly be the next Natu Kaka. However, there is no official confirmation from the makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

Mr Nayak, aged 77, passed away on October 3 after suffering from a rare form of cancer. In 2020, the veteran actor took a voluntary break from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for an urgent surgery that removed as many as 8 cancerous lumps from his neck. Post the surgery and lockdown, he wasn't seen much on the show. Despite deteriorating health, he remained committed to his profession and passionately shot for a few brief scenes.

As per his last wish, he was cremated on October 4 with makeup on his face. Mr Nayak's co-stars like Dilip, Munmun Dutta, Tanmay Vekaria, Samay Shah, Bhavya Gandhi and others attended the funeral.
