Shehnaaz Gill’s father Santokh Singh Sukh was shot at in Amritsar when two men on a bike fire at him around 8.30 pm on Saturday. The incident happened when Santhokh was returning from an event in the city. Total four bullets were fired on his vehicle. Santokh’s security personnel had parked the car at the side of the road near Gurdaspurian da Dhaba in Jandiala Guru and had gone to the toilet when two youths opened firing at Santokh who was sitting inside the car.
The actress’ father had rolled down the window from the front passengers’ seat to identify his assailants and that is when he was shot at. His security threw bricks at the men on bike who could not be captured as they fled from the crime scene. The incident is being investigated by the Police, who said that the matter seemed suspicious and the investigation is on. The police also said that there is a lot of difference in his statements and hence all possible angles are being investigated. Santokh escaped unhurt in the firing.
On the other hand, Santokh alleged that even though the police were informed immediately post the incident, a case was yet to be registered. Santokh had recently joined the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), a move that comes right ahead of the State Assembly Elections in 2022.
