Sanjeeda Shaikh and Aamir Ali got legally divorced earlier this year. The custody of their daughter Ayra Ali went to the actress. The couple parted ways after 9 years of marriage. Now, according to a leading daily's report, Sanjeeda and Aamir are not co-parenting Ayra. As per the report, a source told the publication that Aamir hasn't met his daughter for 9 months now.
As per the source, "Sanjeeda is not letting Aamir meet their daughter. It’s been almost nine months since he met her. Also, he seems to have given up pursuing it as well. He doesn’t really wish to fight on this anymore." Reportedly, Aamir will not be a part of Ayra's 3rd birthday this year. "Sanjeeda took the responsibility of the baby, including financially, since she was born and has been raising her as a single parent," the source shared.
When the daily contacted Sanjeeda, the actress said, "I think people are more interested to know what’s happening in my professional life than my personal life. So let’s keep the personal life private only. As for the rumours, I’d just say, as a single parent, I’m doing everything to give my daughter the best of the best. To bring her up in a positive environment is my utmost priority, and I chose that."
On the other hand, Aamir refused to comment. "I don’t wish to talk about my personal life," he shared.
Sanjeeda and Aamir haven't disclosed the reason behind their separation. In 2020, there were rumours of separation but they chose not to address it publicly. The couple welcomed Ayra via surrogacy in 2019.
