There's a new twist in Sonali Phogat's demise case. It was initially reported that the actress-politician succumbed to a heart attack but now, it seems that's not the case. After doctors conducted an autopsy in Goa, where she breathed her last, it is suspected that she was murdered.
Sonali's family gave their consent for the autopsy which was conducted on Wednesday. As per the report, doctors found multiple 'blunt injuries' on her body. It was also found that there were marks of abuse and assault too. An FIR has been registered under section 302 of IPC.
Sonali's brother had filed a complaint days after her demise. He accused her personal assistant Sudhir Sangwan and his friend Sukhwinder of rape and murder. He further claimed that Sonali had spoken to their brother-in-law Aman Punia hours before her demise on Monday and suspected that she was served food laced with some intoxicant. The complaint reportedly read, "She told Punia that Sangwan and his friend had committed a theft at her house in Hisar three years ago and that she would approach the police on her return to Hisar on August 23. She also said Sangwan had given her food laced with some intoxicant, raped her and made a video and was threatening to make the video viral on social media."
The doctors stated that Sonali's death wasn't by a heart attack. The final report will be submitted tomorrow.
