Dev Joshi, known for playing the role of Baalveer in the popular Sab TV's show, has ticked a dream off his bucket list. The young actor is among 10 celebrities from different corners of the world for the ‘first civilian moon flight’ under a project ‘dearMoon’ sponsored by Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa. It has been reportedly planned on Elon Musk-owned SpaceX's Starship and Super Heavy Rocket, formerly known as BFR.
Sharing the news with his fans, Dev wrote on his Instagram page, "This is a Dream come true! Proud to be the Crew Member for @dearmoonproject by @yusaku2020 & @spacex I can't express myself in words, but the feeling is beyond anything.....I am proud to be part of such an extraordinary, unbelievable, once-in-a-lifetime project of #dearMoon Life has always suprised me with new opportunities & this is the biggest one I can ever think of! "
He further added, "Thank you all of my well-wishers, fans and friends from all corners of the world for their never-ending support and blessings to me and and my Family Thank you @d3parivar for your constant hard work and unconditional efforts to make me a better human being... According to reports, the trip would last almost six days and circumnavigate the Moon without landing. Dev will be joined by Maezawa, DJ and music producer Steve Aoki, 'Everday Astronaut' Youtuber Tim Dodd, Artist Yemi A.D., Photographers Karim Iliya and Rhiannon Adam, filmmaker Brendan Hall and Korean rapper TOP. Apart from this, there will be two backup crew members: snowboarder Kaitlyn Farrington and dancer Miyu.
Dev, popularly known as Baalveer, started acting at the age of 3. In 2019, he was awarded the Bal Shakti Puraskar, which is the highest civilian honour in India under the age of 18, by the former President of India Ramnath Kovind.
