LAKME FASHION WEEK 2018: Raiser sharp!

Hip, hop and happening – that seems to be the scenario ahead at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018 from January 31 to February 4 at Jio Garden, BKC. Here’s a curtain-raiser: biggies Anita Dongre, Tarun Tahiliani, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Ritu Kumar, Narendra Kumar, Shantanu & Nikhil, Gaurang, Falguni & Shane Peacock, Meera & Muzaffar Ali among others will come together to present the best of fashion through sustainable and inclusive collaborations.

The grand finale belongs to Anamika Khanna with her interpretation of Reinventing Nudes. It promises to bring together the best of her contemporary designs interspersed with the diverse nude palette that Lakmé will be introducing this season.

6Degree Studio at LFW is an experimental space for conceptual presentations in formats that promote thought-provoking collections by fashion/textile designers/artists. Some of the designers this season include Princess Pea x Lovebirds, Naushad Ali, Shriya Som, Rara Avis, Sanjukta Dutta, Lajjoo C and a large-scale showcase with Tarun Tahiliani.

INIFD will once again present the Gen Next show that kicks off the fashion week. The designers include Anvita Sharm and Asit Barik, Ayushman Mitra, Padma Raj Keshri, Mohammed Mazhar and Heleana Bajaj Larsen.

Sustainable Fashion Day will focus on dialogues on North East India catalyzing sustainable fashion in collaboration with United Nations, India. The day will see IMG Reliance present the #NORTHEASTMOJO show that will have five designers working with five crafts – Daniel Syiem from Meghalaya, Kuzu from Sikkim, Jenjum Gadi and Exotic Echo Society from Nagaland, Khumantem from Manipur, Tilla from Tripura and Sonam Dubal from Assam.
