Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019: Katrina Kaif to Kareena Kapoor Khan, check out the stunning showstoppers who lit up the runway!

The Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 not just paved way to the sartorial soiree but was also a platform to witness out Bollywood celebrities dressed in their ravishing best. Held in Mumbai from August 21 to August 25, 2019, this 5-day long gala had everything in store for us. Sustainable fashion, wedding lehengas, indie prints and glamorous gowns, LFW ticked all of these boxes!

But that’s just not it! Each time that LFW comes around the corner it brings a lot of our favourite celebrities on the runway strutting away in glory. Safe to say, this time was no exception either as this season of the Lakmé Fashion Week witnessed our tinsel town divas and dapper dudes dressed to kill and to inspire.

Stopping shows and our hearts alike, check out glamorous showstoppers stealing the limelight at this 5-day fashion festival…

THE GRAND OPENING

Opening the show was our beloved Zoya a.k.a Katrina Kaif who did the strut for designer Manish Malhotra showcasing his collection ‘Maahrumysha’

DAY 1

Day 1 of this 5-day gala was all about next-gen designers and veteran designers owning the day alike. We saw a lot of famous faces on the ramp who stole the limelight away

MALAVIKA MOHANAN – VINEET RAHUL

Malavika graced the ramp for designers Vineet Kataria’s and Rahul Arya’s label Vineet Rahul who unveiled Pichwai a range that was replete with all the beautiful textiles and crafts of India.

ESHA GUPTA – NOT SO SERIOUS BY PALLAVI MOHAN

Esha turned muse to designer Pallavi Mohan’s label Not So Serious who displayed her collection Simply Studio 54 that revived the glitz, glamour and glory of the feisty ’70s.

SHIBANI DANDEKAR & FARHAN AKHTAR – PAYAL SINGHAL

Celebrating her 20 glorious years in the fashion fraternity, Payal Singhal showcased her collection Gypsies and Bohemia ft showstoppers and lovebirds Shibani and Farhan.

LISA HAYDON & HARDIK PANDYA – AMIT AGGARWAL

Day 1 of LFW closed with Amit’s collection ‘Flux’ featuring showstoppers Lisa and Hardik was all about futuristic textures and metallic colours.

DAY 2

Day 2 of this glamorous soiree was all about sustainability and all things organic.

MRUNAL THAKUR- AAVARAN UDAIPUR

Mrunal closed the show for label Aavaran Udaipur who marked their debut this season at the LFW

MALAVIKA MOHANAN- PADMAJA

Padmaja’s collection ‘Ayahuma’ celebrated the beauty of festivals, rituals and dances with its delicate and relaxed silhouettes. Showstopper Malavika sailed down the ramp in a flowy printed sari.

ATHIYA SHETTY – ABRAHAM & THAKORE

Day 2 of Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 had a spectacular end with Athiya closing the show for designers Abraham & Thakore.

DAY 3

POOJA HEGDE- JAYANTI REDDY

Showstopper Pooja concluded the show for label Jayanti Reddy in a vibrant, dreamy lehenga which was full of embroidery and embellishments.

DIANA PENTY- RIDHI MEHRA

Ridhi Mehra's collection was a beautiful ode to heirlooms, consisting of references of old, cultural patterns, prints and motifs fused with modern and contemporary ensembles. Diana strut the ramp for Ridhi looking beautiful as ever!

TARA SUTARIA- LABEL RITU KUMAR

Tara walked down the runway looking chic as ever for label Ritu Kumar’s collection at the gala.

RAKUL PREET- CAPRESE X NACHIKET BARVE

Nachiket Barve switched it up with some indo-western ensembles this time. Keeping his core elements intact in his ensembles, he experimented with contemporary silhouettes, as he partnered with Caprese for a chic presentation. Showstopper Rakul Preet owned the runway looking nothing less than a diva.

DAY 4

SHOBHITA DHULIPALA- THE PLATFORM FT. BLONI, SALITA NANDA AND SWGT

The Day 4 of the Lakme Fashion week opened with the Platform ft. designers Bloni, Salita Nanda and SWGT where Shobhita was their showstopper.

ANANYA PANDAY – LABEL ANUSHREE AND ARPITA MEHTA

The Blockbuster bride – Ananya turned to a perfect muse for both of these designers and needless to say, she got us drooling!

SHIBANI DANDEKAR- BANDANA NARULA

The gorgeous Shibani stopped the show in a sensuous, floral, corset with a chevron design lehenga for Bandana Narula.

RHEA CHAKRABORTY- AMBIKA LAL

The stunning Rhea walked for Ambika Lal in a black, embellished corset gown and stole the limelight.

ADAH SHARMA- PINKEY AGARWAL

Adah turned muse to designer Pinkey Agarwal dressed in an embellished tube blouse, zardosi embroidered dupatta, layered skirt and a headgear.

ARJUN KAPOOR- KUNAL RAWAL X BOAT

Arjun looked every bit of dapper as he walked down the ramp for designer Kunal Rawal’s collection - Confluence

AYUSHMANN KHURRANA AND DISHA PATANI – ROHIT GANDHI+RAHUL KHANNA

Day 5 ended on a glamorous note with designers Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna launching their ‘Interstellar’ collection. Showstoppers Disha and Ayushmann set the ramp ablaze with their glamorous looks.

DAY 5

Day 5 and the last day of LFW, was indeed high on glamour.

MALAIKA ARORA- DIYARAJVVIR

Diya Rajvvir’s festive collection “Rosette” was all about romance that will last forever with creations that celebrate the bridal event. Malaika owned the runway wearing a plunging neckline, fitted choli with giant, layered, fan sleeves and a slinky rose, embroidered marsala, high-slit long skirt.

SHILPA SHETTY- PUNIT BALANA

Showstopper Shilpa did the strut for designer Punit Balana’s collection “Rabari” looking breathtaking as ever.

SHABANA AZMI- KAVERI

Label Kaveri made a debut at the LFW2019 with their collection “Festive Dreams”. Gracing the runway was the veteran actress Shabana Azmi dressed in a black and white layered kurta teamed with a pink pleated dupatta with white frills.

Actor Vijay Varma strutted down the ramp for Tisa’s men collection – Shey

URVASHI RAUTELA- PINK PEACOCK COUTURE

Pink Peacock Couture enchanted us with their charming designs. Urvashi made a scintillating appearance on the runway and took our breath away.

GENELIA D’SOUZA- SAROJ JALAN

Saroj Jalan made us swoon over her oh-so-dreamy ensembles and to top it all, the gorgeous Genelia did the strut.

SOHA ALI KHAN- KAVITA AGARWAL

Showstopper Soha made us all stop and stare with her dreamy, dreamy lehenga by designer Kavita Agarwal.

NEHA SHARMA- KRAFT CORRIDOR

Neha made us swoon over her beauty as she graced the runway for label Kraft Corridor.

DELNAAZ IRANI AND VAHBIZ DORABJEE- RINA DHAKA X ALL PLUS-SIZE

Delnaaz Irani and Vahbiz Dorabjee walked the runway for Rina Dhaka X All Plus-size and we were truly mesmerized!

KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN- GAURI & NAINIKA

Saving the best for the last, Kareena Kapoor closed the Lakme Fashion Week. Bebo’s steamy strut for designers Gauri & Nainika was a befitting way to end this season of fashion festivities.
