Hot, hot, hot was what it was as Lakmé Salon presented the 'Garam Masala' collection by Gaurang Shah along with great hairstyles and makeup looks at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2020. It was a showcase of rich hair colour looks, inspired by popular Indian spices, from spicy nutmeg and zesty kokum to tangy mustard, fiery saffron and sinful cinnamon.
Offsetting these glorious colours was Gaurang’s black and white collection of 40 unique saris, anarkalis, kurtas and flowing lehengas.
Flashing across the runway was a delicious menu of great Indian textile weaves, embellishments and textures. The strains of violinist Kailash Patra and the soothing voice of actor Tabu who recited a poem written by Iqbal Patni filled the air.
Tabu ended the show by taking to the ramp in a beautiful black and gold Kanjeevaram ghagra and blouse teamed with a black-and-white Patan Patola dupatta.
The 40 stunning saris and ensembles in classic black and white were peppered with the garam masala colours that created spicy entries on the runway.
