Poonawalla Breeders’ Multi-Million: Heady affair at the race with grace!

The Poonawallas always do things in style. This family, synonymous with horse breeding and racing, ensures that the Poonawalla Breeders’ Multi-Million, the richest juvenile race in India, is an affair to remember. Like it was on Sunday evening at Mahalakshmi racecourse.

Besides the gleam of the horses galloping along, turning round the bend and overtaking other horses in style, what’s hip, hop and happening is the crowd in the members’ enclosure. The gents look dapper in their stylish suits while the ladies steal the show with their designer ensembles and, oh, those hats and headgear, making it a heady affair indeed!

Photographers and, actually, everyone for everyone is a photographer with his/her mobile phone, had a field day clicking those pics and selfies to upload on social media. Models sporting some stunning outfit from Delna Poonawalla’s latest collection added to the glam quotient. And there was also actor Simona Jesensky who was driven in Yohan Poonawalla’s Rolls Royce, from the paddock to the track, where the winners were presented their laurels.

Started by RWITC chairman Zavaray Poonawalla, who was at the event with wife Behroze, the Poonawalla Breeders’ Multi-Million also saw the presence of Yohan Poonawalla and wife Michelle, Delna Poonawalla and Simone Poonawalla.

Bubbly flowed in the Poonawalla private lounge, while outside there were drinks and food stalls to ensure that everyone was in good spirits. Live music added to the action after sundown and at moonrise.
