Keeping up with the new normal, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), brought to us the first-ever digital edition of the India Couture Week 2020, from September 18 to 23.
Day 3 of the soiree presented us with some old-world glamour with a contemporary touch.
DOLLY J STUDIO
With soothing background music and Urdu alfaaz, Dolly J’s ‘Gulenaar’ collection featured models twirling in their pretty lehengas and fusion gowns with capes and trains.
Intricate embellishments, ruffles and feathers were prominently visible in this collection.
The colour palette ranged from pretty pastel and champagne hues to rich jewel tones.
JJ VALAYA
While Dolly J added a modern touch to the bridal trousseau, JJ Valaya’s ‘Bursa’ transported us to 14th century whilst narrating the Ottoman Saga.
Revolving around the 3 key silhouettes of Indian weddings and celebrations- lehenga, sherwani and sari, this collection brought back the old world glamour. Belted sarees, rich bandh galas and intricately detailed lehengas took over the virtual runway while rich jewel tones and bold prints added a pop of colour.
Statement jewels from Archana Aggarwal collection added dollops of regalia to this presentation
Modish millennial touch to old-world glamour, day three exuded regality while celebrating traditions. What are your thoughts on this?
