The sartorial soiree at Day 5 of the first-ever digital India Couture Week 2020 just leveled up serving a plethora of looks to sink our teeth into. Taking his signature style, a notch higher, designer Kunal Rawal made a strong fashion statement with his menswear collection.
Titled ‘Hide and Seek’ this collection featured on traditional and fusion looks to the likes of the modern man.
Shot as Asiatic Society of Mumbai, The collection focused on deconstructed looks and mock layering where separates could be worn in more than one way enabling the person to create multiple looks.
Rawal’s collection was high on embellishments, intricate zardozi, and embroidered detailing. Needless to say, this collection featured different textures ranging from French knots to fine thread work. What stood out for us was his ‘GROOM’ and ‘TRADITIONAL’ embroidered detailing.
The colour palette ranged from dreamy whites to bewitching black and bright jewel tones along with some pastel shades. Covering every nook and corner!
Keeping in mind the deconstruction and layering bit, this collection saw a lot of suave bandhgalas and dhotis teamed up with koti jackets and striped colourful shawls.
As far as the video presentation is concerned, it exuded quite a contemporary vibe without trying too hard. Modish, diverse, out of the box and aesthetically pleasing- Kunal’s collection ticked all the right boxes.
