Yesterday being the last day of the six-day fashion soiree at the first-ever digital India Couture Week 2020, organized by FDCI, we expected nothing but an epic closure. And boy, it did not disappoint us.
Commencing the last day of the ICW2020 with a bang, designer Anju Modi presented her bridal collection with a unique story-telling through her fashion film. Titled ‘Sindoori’, this collection celebrated the innocence, mischief and passion of a bride and highlighted the beauty and complexities of a woman.
Presenting traditional wear with a contemporary twist, this collection featured breezy ivory lehengas with a hint of haldi yellows and delicate embroideries.
The shade card inched toward vibrant violets, brocade golds, velvet reds, ochers and greens that displaying pleated anarkalis, detailed shararas with intricately detailed jackets breezy lehengas and monotone sarees.
The collection later transformed in bridal Sindoori red featuring opulent ghagras with brocade and embroidery detailing, intricately embellished blouses, statement waist-belts and sheer as well as two-toned dupattas.
Polki-encrusted hathphools, maang-tika, rani haars and other statement pieces from Krishna Jewellers added an element of sparkle to his collection.
Witnessing the transformation of an innocent girl to a radiant Indian bride, this fashion film was packed with oodles of drama and sartorial glamour. Capturing moods and complexities of a bride in the most elegant yet candid way, Anju’s couture collection marries tradition and fashion.
