Replacing front row seats with virtual settings, the five-day fashion soiree at the phygital Lotus Make-up India Fashion Week, organized by FDCI was a new experience of storytelling through the medium of fashion. Playing with the digital theme, designers explored different segments of presenting their collections via fashion film.
The final day of the soiree closed with a bang with versatile couture presentations from different designers.
AMAARE
Amaare presented their collection ‘Cosmos‘ that focused on recreating traditional Indian silhouettes with a modish and contemporary touch.
Textured suits and sherwanis featuring a subtle art of layering along with neck scarves and embellishments were the highlights of this collection.The collection presented rich and deep tones ranging from wines to blues and blacks.
PAWAN SACHDEVA AND VIKRAM BAJAJ
Pawan’s collection Blitzen bore inspiration from ‘contemporary industrial design in a palette of blues, blacks, tints of grey and shiny metallics with hints of reflective tapes’. Casual featuring turtle necks, striped pants, leather jackets formed a prominent part of the collection.
Vikram’s unisex collection ‘Conditions Counterplay’ had a unique and quirky approach with keen attention to detail.
The collection featured chic occasion/street-wear consisting of Scarf tops, printed shirts, vest coats, denim crops and camo hoodies, amongst other pieces.
RINA DHAKA
Rina’s “Book of Courage’ was a subtle ode to migrant workers. This collection was ‘mirror the austerity and simplicity of those who faced the worst crisis of the decade.’
Elegant kurtas with delicate embroidered and ruffled dupattas, sheer sarees, mesh gowns with voluminous tiers and ruffles comprised of this collection. The shade card ranged from classic whites to soothing pastels and striking golden.
SHIVAN & NARRESH
The designer duo’s festive collection featured 2 new prints - Dame and Oriri, that ‘illustrated the beauty of human anatomy’.
This destination edit featured belted, two-toned sarees, sheer kaftans, printed co-ords, corset gowns, embellished yet breezy lehengas and printed kurtas amongst others.
ROHIT GANDHI + RAHUL KHANNA
Closing the show with a bang, Rohit & Rahul reintroduced the colour of love in their latest collection ‘Parallax'. Along with the colour ‘Red’ we saw their signature blacks in for of embellished gowns, suave tuxedos and suits.
Elements like tassels, textures and feathers added a dramatic element to this collection. Sticking to the basics, this collection presented partywear with a glamourous touch.
